🫶 Product Quality & Provenance

What makes Euphoria Gift EVOO different from supermarket olive oil?

Most supermarket olive oils are blended from multiple countries, often processed with heat (which destroys polyphenols and antioxidants), and stored in light-permeable glass or plastic. Euphoria Gift is:

  • 100% Single-Origin — every drop from our family’s groves in Crete, Greece.
  • Cold-Extracted below 27°C — preserving the full polyphenol and antioxidant profile.
  • Ultra-Low Acidity (0.49%) — far below the 0.8% legal maximum for Extra Virgin classification.
  • Light-Protected in Metal Tins — preventing UV degradation of flavour and nutrients.

What is the acidity level of your olive oil?

Our EVOO consistently measures below 0.49%acidity. To put this in context: the legal threshold for “Extra Virgin” classification in the EU is 0.8%. Our oil is more than twice as pure by this standard.

What olive variety do you use?

We use the Koroneiki olive variety — native to Crete and widely regarded as one of the world’s finest EVOO varieties. It is naturally high in polyphenols and produces an oil with a distinctive bright, peppery, and slightly grassy character.

When is your oil harvested?

We harvest once per year, typically in October to November, when the Koroneiki olives reach optimal ripeness. Our oil is cold-extracted within hours of picking to maximise freshness and quality.

Is your olive oil certified?

Our oil is produced to Extra Virgin standards as defined by EU Regulation (EC) No 29/2012. Specific certification details are listed on our product labelling and available on request.

🪣 Storage & Daily Use

How should I store my 5L Chef’s Reserve Tin?

Store your tin in a cool, dark location — a kitchen cupboard or pantry is ideal. Avoid storing near the hob, oven, or in direct sunlight. Key storage tips:

  • Ideal temperature: 14–18°C
  • Keep away from direct light and heat sources
  • Always seal the tin immediately after each use
  • Do not refrigerate (oil will solidify and lose aroma temporarily)

How long does the oil last once opened?

Once opened, we recommend consuming within 18 months for optimal flavour. The light-protected tin significantly extends freshness compared to glass — but regular use is always the best quality guarantee. The 5L format is ideal for households that cook regularly.

How do I use a 5L tin day-to-day without it being impractical?

We recommend the decanting method used by professional chefs and culinary households across the Mediterranean:

  1. Keep your 5L tin sealed and stored in a cool, dark cupboard.
  2. Invest in a small ceramic or dark glass countertop decanter (250–500ml capacity).
  3. Refill your decanter from the tin once or twice per week, depending on usage.
  4. Seal your tin immediately after each refill.
  5. Your countertop decanter handles all daily pouring — your tin stays protected.

This gives you the best price-per-litre of any premium EVOO on the European market, combined with the convenience of a small pour bottle at your hob.

Can the empty tin be recycled?

Absolutely. Our tins are infinitely recyclable via standard kerbside metal recycling in all EU countries. Alternatively, many of our customers repurpose their empty tins as kitchen storage containers, utensil holders, or even herb planters — they make beautiful additions to any kitchen.
